From the moment Alex first met Craig, Alex was taken in by his passion for sport and how he believed that you could achieve anything if you really wanted it. From that day Alex had such a thirst for achievement…. And felt his life was worth living to the full….which he did big time. In 2012 Alex went to sleep at the age of 18 very suddenly. For us as Alex’s parents, we knew from day one that that we desperately wanted Craig to be our patron, as he is so special to us, To say we are delighted that Craig accepted and is on board with us and Alex’s charity is an understatement, he is the reason we got our son Alex to enjoy life again!!!!! Thank you Craig for being our special patron

After building a strong relationship with Craig and realising what an inspiring role model he is to young people, we decided to make an offer of Patronship to him. We are immensely proud that he has chosen to support us and feel that his enthusiastic personality and determination will make him a tremendous role model to the young people of our Group

Craig was appointed as a trustee of Tyne & Wear Sport in 2011 until 2017 and he proved to be a considerable asset to the charity. His attributes of tenacity, determination and commitment which enabled him to enjoy success as an international gymnast are complemented by his affability, generosity and zest for life. Craig’s personal and sporting experiences together with his ebullient personality have equipped him to inspire and mentor young people to achieve their potential. He is extremely appreciative of the support that he was given during his sporting career and he has an irrepressible desire to help others to enjoy participating and succeeding in sport.
